Membership subscriptions without card fees

You do not need card processing to run membership subscriptions. Set your membership plans, record who has paid by bank transfer, cash, cheque or standing order, and let the software track renewals and flag anyone overdue. Card payments are optional: turn them on only for members who prefer to pay by card, so you are never forced to absorb card fees on every subscription.
1. Set your membership plans
Define each category — full, intermediate, junior, social, country — with its annual fee and what it includes. Members are assigned a plan; the software knows what each one owes and when.
2. Record offline payments
Most UK clubs collect dues by bank transfer or standing order. Mark each member as paid when the money lands, or import a batch. No card processor sits between the member and the club, so there are no per-transaction fees.
3. Track renewals and chase the overdue
The system shows who has paid, who is due and who is overdue, so your membership secretary works from one list instead of a spreadsheet. Send a reminder rather than a chase-around.
4. Offer card payment only where it helps
Some members would rather pay by card, and some clubs want that convenience. Switch card payments on per club when it suits you — the fee applies only to those transactions, not to your whole membership.
5. Keep a clean record
Every payment, offline or card, is logged against the member, so reconciliation at year end is a report, not an archaeology project.
