What Caddyioconnects to — and what it doesn’t.
The second list is the useful one. Knowing what a system will not do for you is worth more than a logo wall, and it is the part a club otherwise discovers in week one.
What it connects to
Stripe
On request, off by defaultCard payments for membership dues and member purse top-ups
Runs through Stripe Connect, so money settles into the club's own Stripe account rather than ours. Switched OFF by default: a club has to connect an account and enable card payments before anything card-based appears. Until then dues run on the offline rails — bank transfer, cash, standing order, cheque — recorded in the app.
UK Golf Course Data directory
LiveCourse profile and scorecard scaffold on club setup
When a club is created, Caddyio matches it against the UK golf course directory and pre-fills courses, tees, a hole skeleton and location. It saves an afternoon of typing and every value stays editable. The match is verified by staff on the branding screen before it is treated as confirmed.
Resend
LiveTransactional email
Account confirmations, staff invitations, password resets and club broadcasts, sent from a verified caddyio.com sender.
Web Push (VAPID)
LiveNotifications to members without a native app
Tee-time confirmations, competition results, coach messages and club announcements arrive as browser push notifications on Android, desktop and iOS (where the member has added the app to their home screen). No install, no app store.
Caddyio REST API & embed SDK
LiveYour live club data on your own website
Read-only endpoints for club and course data, live leaderboards, tee-sheet availability, driving-range and simulator availability, and today's course status including greenkeeper notices. A drop-in script renders any of them on an existing club website. No key needed for the public endpoints.
More on thisWhat it doesn’t connect to
Straight answers, so nobody has to find out later. Each one says what happens instead.
EPOS and till systems
No integration, and no point-of-sale of our own.
Your till stays your till. Bookings taken at the counter record what they come to but are deliberately never marked as paid, because the money went through your system and not ours.
Range ball dispensers and bay technology
No integration with ball machines, range cards, Toptracer, Inrange, power tees or similar.
Caddyio books the bay and sells the bucket as part of the booking; the balls are still collected at the counter.
Launch monitors and simulator hardware
No data is read out of Trackman, Foresight, GCQuad or any simulator.
Caddyio books and prices the simulator bay. Shot data in Caddyio comes from members logging shots during real rounds, which is what reaches the club professional as shot maps and per-club distances.
WHS and union handicap systems
No automated sync with England Golf, Golf Ireland, Scottish Golf or any union platform.
Caddyio tracks an indicative Handicap Index under WHS rules and exports it for your handicap secretary to submit. Your union-connected provider stays the official record — that is a deliberate boundary, not a gap we are about to close.
Tee-time marketplaces
No listing on GolfNow, TeeOffTimes or other distribution networks.
Caddyio runs your own tee sheet for your own members and registered visitors. If filling empty visitor slots from a demand network is your priority, a distribution platform does that better and our comparison pages say so.
Accounting software
No Xero, QuickBooks or Sage integration.
Membership payments and purse movements are recorded and exportable, so figures can be taken into your accounts, but nothing posts automatically.
Integration questions
Does Caddyio integrate with our EPOS or till?
- No. Caddyio has no point-of-sale and does not connect to one. Your till carries on as it does today. Where a booking is taken at the counter, Caddyio records what it comes to but never marks it paid, because the payment went through your system.
Does Caddyio connect to our driving range ball dispenser?
- No. Caddyio books the bay and sells the bucket of balls as part of that booking; the balls are still collected at the counter. There is no integration with ball machines, range cards, Toptracer or Inrange.
Will Caddyio submit scores to England Golf or update our official handicaps?
- No. There is no automated sync with any union handicap system. Caddyio calculates an indicative Handicap Index under World Handicap System rules and exports it for your handicap secretary to submit. Your union-connected provider remains the official record.
Can we take card payments through Caddyio?
- Yes, through Stripe Connect, and it is off by default. A club connects its own Stripe account and enables card payments; money settles to the club, not to us. Until then, membership dues and purse top-ups run on offline rails — bank transfer, cash, standing order — recorded in the app.
Can we pull Caddyio data into our existing club website?
- Yes. There is a documented REST API and a drop-in JavaScript embed for live leaderboards, tee-time availability, range and simulator availability, and today's course status including greenkeeper notices. The public endpoints need no API key. Bookings themselves are completed signed-in in the member area.
Do members need to install an app to get notifications?
- No. Notifications use Web Push, which works in the browser on Android and desktop, and on iOS once a member adds the app to their home screen. There is also an optional native Android app for players who want background GPS.
Wondering about a system not listed?
Ask. You will get a straight yes or no rather than a roadmap answer.
