Handicap Index
Track your golf handicap in the members' app
Every qualifying round a member scores feeds an indicative Handicap Index — the best 8 of the last 20 score differentials, updated automatically when a round completes. It sits on the member's dashboard with the trend, the rounds it's built from, and an export to keep their official record up to date.
A player who tracks every other number in their life expects to watch their handicap move too — round by round, not once a season.
The problem
Members can't see their handicap move
Between official revisions, a member has no idea where their game is trending. The number lives on someone else's system, updated on someone else's schedule, and never in the moment they just holed out.
The response
An indicative index that updates every qualifying round
Caddyio computes an indicative Handicap Index from the member's own scoring history under WHS 2024 maths — best 8 of the last 20 differentials, net-double-bogey adjusted, with soft and hard caps. It updates the moment a qualifying round is saved, and a CSV or printable summary exports cleanly for the club's handicap secretary.
Why it matters
What a truly connected club gains
Indicative, and honest about it
Caddyio is clear that this is an indicative figure, not the official WHS record your union publishes. It's a live view of the member's trend — and the export makes keeping the official record current effortless.
Best 8 of 20, done for them
Members don't run the WHS maths by hand. Differentials, the net-double-bogey cap, the small-sample table and the soft/hard caps are applied automatically as rounds land.
It closes the loop with the club
The one-tap export gives the handicap secretary exactly what they need — date, course, rating, slope, differential — so the official record and the member's play stay in step.
Private rounds stay private
A member can mark a round private; it's excluded from the indicative index, so casual play never distorts the figure they and the club rely on.
Auto-calculated
The indicative index recomputes whenever a qualifying round completes — no manual entry.
Trends & history
A differential history table highlights the best 8, with the index trend over time.

For your club
- Give members a live handicap view without becoming their official record keeper.
- The export makes the handicap secretary's job faster, not harder.
- Qualifying vs casual is a member toggle, so the figure stays meaningful.
- Sits inside your branded member area, not a third-party network app.
For your members
- Watch an indicative Handicap Index move with every qualifying round.
- See exactly which 8 rounds it's built from and how it's trending.
- Keep casual rounds out of it with a private-round toggle.
- Export a clean summary to keep their official record current.
How it works
- 01
Score a qualifying round
The member marks the round qualifying when they finish (competitions default to it).
- 02
The index recomputes
Caddyio calculates the score differential and updates the indicative Handicap Index under WHS maths.
- 03
Export when needed
The member downloads a CSV or printable summary to hand to the club's handicap secretary.
The Caddyio difference
An honest handicap view members actually watch
Caddyio doesn't pretend to be the official record — it gives members a live, indicative view of their handicap that updates every round, and an export that keeps the real record easy to maintain. Honest, useful, and inside your own app.
Compare the whole platformFrequently asked
